    Default Wannabe Pilots

Bah, I can't find anywhere to put this...I'd of thought there would be some sort of 'Employment' section.

How are you planning to be a pilot?

This applies for all you wannabe pilots, or anyone who knows anything about the subject in hand.

Basically, I'm desperate to be a pilot. I can't find a way to get into the profession! I've tried CTC Wings but they say I'll need to live in New Zealand for 12 months!

It's not just as simple as going to an airport, asking for a job and them telling you to read a post-it note.

Also, I know about Air Cadets but can't/don't want to join with them.

If you have a spare 70k you can go to the Oxford Aviation Training (OAT)

They have a special loan for training pilots.

I am also trying to search around for one

Find somewhere else to get sponsorship, or simply go get your PPL and build up CPL and ATPL and then apply to be a pilot. You need to be prepared to pay out quite a bit of money for both routes really. Air cadets would be really good as they give you free flying lessons and then you become a pilot for free.

Yeah, Air Cadets would have been great. I just don't have the confidence to go, really. I mean, I'd go with my friends but he's not into that sort of stuff. I think I'm too old too, I don't know though lol.

    That's another problem too, money.

Pay my own way, proberbly at OAT.. I know it's suppost to be rubbish, but at the end of the day its 18 months of your life and then you end up with a full type rating and licence.. Then you get a number of airlines offering you jobs, including Ryanair
