Lol, happened to me once, I put down a sticker and nothing appeared, also, I picked one up and it wasn't in my inventory.

Happened to me loads of times. Usually they turn back into creds and go into my purse, or are hidden in my inventory. But heh, like the people have been saying, it's only a couple of creds.
