Reports claiming that Lily Allen is pregnant with her first child have been confirmed by her spokesperson.
This morning it emerged that the singer could be pregnant with her Chemical Brothers boyfriend Ed Simons after a source claimed: "Lily is thrilled to be pregnant and can't wait to become a mum. She's a real family person. Ed's very happy. He is really looking after her."
The singer's representative has now revealed that the reports are correct and that she is definitely pregnant, saying that the pair are "obviously both thrilled by the the news".
The spokesman added: "As the pregnancy is at a very, very early stage, the couple ask that you respect their privacy, as the health of Lily and their child is their paramount concern."
Allen, who has been dating Simons since September, plans to release her second album, which she is currently working on, next year.
