Red face am i right for doing this.

i felt well ill today i tryed to get up to go work and was sick so i didnt go work i went bk to bed i rang in at 2 saying wut happend and why i didnt go in thay said coz i hadnt been docters and got a note from them i had to go in right now and do a 8 hour shift still or ill be asked to leave and not come bk. then when the phone was put down i had a thought so thay wanted me to go work with food while i was still ill and had been sick and do a 8 hour shift while still ill so ive not gone to work so more than likely ill be asked to leave tomoz when i go in.

was this right choice ? or a stupid choice?

You made the right choice, if you work with food you could risk passing on your illness to everyone who buys something, and I find it rather pathetic that they would ask for a doctors note because you were sick.

Don't worry, you're allowed so many days off via. self certificated illness by law. You only need a doctor's note after like 7 days or something like that.

& As noted before, food & illness poses a health and safety issue.

You did the right thing staying off.

Think about this, one of your workers doesn't turn up and leaves it until late before telling, they they say they were ill, you'd want proof right? For all they know you are lying. You should get a note saying your to ill to work and take it in tomorrow.

Well, health comes first, so you do the right thing. But you should've called before your shift started to let them know how you were feeling.
