I presume you mean can you have both a modem and a router connected to the internet at the same time? or do you mean can you have the router and modem connected together?

Simple answer is you can't have two devices connected to the internet (e.g - Two modems) without two lines.

When you purchase a router ensure it has a modem built in (most do) and ensure that the modem is disconnected and the router is all set up correctly.

Sorry if this seems a bit Blah lol

Just to clarify more than 3 devices can be connected to a router (Like 2 PCs and a Xbox) and can all be online because they are running all from one connection. You cant have more than one connection on one phone line
