Domain Qeustion

Ok im a bit confused becuase when you buy a domain hwo do you acctually get it so it goes to your site :s

well if u buy hosting u get given ur dns and so when u buy ur domain, u put iny our dns into the boxes in the members area from where u got ur domain from, or if u dont have ur own hosting ( pay ) then u forwrd it to the hosting ur using now such as freewebs.com/site

basicly once you have got a domain, you can log in to its control panle and chnage the name servers. your host should give you its name servers. so you domain the sends the request to the name servers of you host, wich will detect the domain pointed at them and send back the requested infmation, aka the html pages and images etc

Its simple really
With some hosts public_html is already created.. in other hosts you have to create public_html yourself.
The files you want puyblic to see should always be in public_html
Once you have created the homepage name it index.html and put it in public_html and there. Create images in public_html for the mages place.

Ok thanks guys what im going to do is when i get my domain i will email the people and then ask them to give me a step by step walk through
