Its generally gotten crappier.
Although if you raise cats for death runes a lot, you'll like the summoning update. Now it shows a hunger meter, and you can call your pet to you so you don't have to find it to feed it.
Now you can also see your prayer/hp/run next to the map. Thats also an improvement.
But a lot more things have gotten worse.
