    Default The DNA Database

On Friday, 2 killers where convicted of murdering people with DNA evidence connecting them to the crime.

First of all, Steve Wright the murderer of 5 prostitutes in Suffolk late-2006. DNA Fibre's from all 5 of the girl's where researched in the UKs DNA Database. Every person who has been arrested in recent year's is put on the database, all 5 DNA Fibre's matched Steve Wright's who was put on the database in 2003 for a minor pub robbery. They tracked him down very quickly and that's how they got justice.

Same happened in another case where someone 'Raped a dead body', the thread was in this section just recently.

DNA gives reliable and accurate information. So there's been idea's for everyone in the UK to be on the database, as they'd definitely cut down on more crimes, and quicker.

There's now a little 'debate' about should it go ahead. The difficulties with it are, everyone will feel like a suspect, it'll cost a lot, concerns of another government database being a bad thing knowing how well they handle data, it could be an infringement of Human Rights and ethnic group's might not allow it.

I personally think it would be a good step towards stopping crimes, and if Ethnic Group's aren't willing to give DNA, then they can GET THE HELL OUT or prove their religion's existence.

I think if the DNA database is used solely for the correct purpose it's intended for, then I personally wouldn't have a problem with it. In fact I am in favour of the database, as it will help to prevent unsolved crimes in the future. This in turn will reduce the number of hours currently wasted by the policeforce, and may even reduce the number of murders committed by the offender, since they would be arrested sooner, and could be prevented from another similar crime.

So yeah I am in favour!

No. My fingerprints and my DNA will be the last thing any government can take away from me. I will refuse point blank to give them it. This is another example of the socialist disease that is spreading through the UK and Europe. Also how can we trust Labour or any government with our information? Just take a look at the recent fiascos where peoples bank information has been lost. Once a passport/document is stolen at least it can be replaced. You can't replace DNA/fingerprints.

If you commit a crime and they don't have your DNA but have a close relative on the database they will know it was somebody from their family and the closer the match the closer the relative and can almost identify you without a name.
I would imagine now they take DNA samples from new borns etc even thought it would never be admitted.

They say that if this info was available to insurance companies they could predict future illnesses etc and make you pay accordingly.

They will bring this in and probably make it a european wide scheme so the only way not to participate is by getting ready to jump the sinking ship.

The government does what the hell it likes whether we support it or not so dont expect to be able to stop it.
