    Default Travelling

I guess this is the right section.

Hey. Recently I've just gotten so sick of this forum I stopped coming on. During my time off the latest I got up was 8:30am, which I can only usually do on college days... Since I got up so early I just decided to go for a walk (yes, people still walk these days) and ended up walking for 3 hours. I wasn't going anywhere, it was just nice and peaceful so I didn't want to go back. It was just nice and peaceful, I could relax and think without any interruptions.

I didn't realise how lazy I had gotten and I had forgotten what a good walk was like because I don't usually walk as much as I used to these days, apart from college sometimes. I guess I have the internet and where I live to blame for that, there isnt much nice places to walk around here.

But anyway, it really opened my eyes. I thought to myself why the **** have I been sleeping in 'til 3pm most days? I want to see a few sun rises every now and then, y'know. Now I'm going to stop coming on as much and start living a little. I didn't really come on much anyway, but dossing around the house and going 'round friends is still quite lazy.
I've decided that once I get a decent amount of time off, I'm going to travel the English countryside as much as I can. I already have quite a lot of money saved and I'll use that to buy food and supplies. I have a tent, I'll bring that to sleep in. I'm pretty set on doing this and am quite looking forward to it. It should be a great experience.

Now, that might not sound like living to most of you. To you, living would be partying 24/7, taking drugs, etc... but theres only so far you can go.

Anyway, I don't really know why I'm telling you this. I guess I posted it partly because I wanted to hear peoples opinions, see whether anyone else has had the same feelings and done the same thing or whether anyone is going to in the future. And because it may be advice or guidance to some of you on this forum. Just walk somewhere peaceful once in a while, it really makes a difference.

Anyway, if you're one of the people who have bothered to read all that and haven't thought how weird I might sound or thought to yourself 'what a *****' yet, thank you. You're the smartest people.

Anyway, yeah... The questions above... Anyone else feel the same way? Has anyone been travelling like I have in mind before?

I read bits of it but if you're looking for a good place to have a holiday, go to Cyprus (Turkish side). Great beaches where you can have long walks on and stuff

Ok to start i don't like what i bolded.
Fair enough alot of young people are liek that but you have stereotyped quite badly there and it quite annoyed me. You probably didn't mean it but the way you wrote it made it sound liek you were better than everybody for doing this.

Back on topic though. I do liek what you are doing. I lie in alot and doss about and i would rather go out and about but it is hard. I will soon finish my IGCSE's and after that i do plan on quitting everything and having a big summer break.
As i live in Fuerteventura there is a place here called Corralejo which has one of the mmost beautiful beaches in the world. I think was voted 10th or 11th, anyway, i want to go up there with a few of my mates and camp there for a night, not on the beach as that is illegal but there is a campsite right next to it which i can sleep in but i would spend mopst of the time just sat on the beach.
It is stunning up there. When you look forward from the road all you see is beautiful beaches and turquoise blue sea, but if you look behind you then it is pure mountains.

I love English countryside and may go all out and take year off and go back over there and do the same as you.
I miss the english country side, one of best sights in the world.

Theres really no point in reading bits. If you're not prepared to read it all, then don't bother starting. Thanks for the recommendation though Although I'm not looking for a holiday, I'll keep it in mind for the future.

However big-headed I may be, I wasn't trying to make it sound like I was better than everyone else. I said 'most of you' as where I live thats what most people are like. I doubt I can edit now, sorry. Thats not what I meant though.

I wish I was you. If only I lived near a beach I'd be down there every day. I hope you have a great time if you get to go up there.

Yes! Everyone I talk to seems to talk about England as if it's some kind of dump, a waste country, but the countryside is really beautiful! Such a nice place to be. My aunite and uncle live in New Zealand, I'd also like to go and stay with them for a few months in the future. The places around there... amazing.

I do plan to travel the world one day. But who doesn't?

I'd love to go New Zeland. Thailand, Singapore, India.

I want to go stay in a jungle somewhere or in india amongst the elephants and lions. Like a safari.

I am really interested in Buddhism and their views on life and spirituality so i plan on spending time researching that.

I love just driving through the countyside. I know that is what is killing it lol.

Perhaps one day we should meet up and go traveling... lol

good for you! I have to get up extreamly early most mornings anyway so see the sun rise all the time but meh I'm glad you've been 'inspired' to do this traveling thing =]
I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s okay, because we’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know. It was the best. A daft old man who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it. I always meant to take it back. Oh, that box, Amy, you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you. Big and little at the same time. Brand-new and ancient and the bluest blue ever. And the times we had, eh? Would had…Never had. In your dreams, they’ll still be there. The Doctor and Amy Pond and the days that never came.

I agree with you Neversoft. A good walk and getting up earlier than 10PM is good. It helps me clear my mind just going on a nice walk. I'd recommend going to the Yorkshire Dale's. It's a beautiful place, great walking and a cheap holiday.
