Default I *know* how to save the world.

"Lightning is an atmospheric discharge of electricity"

Ok, the earth is hit by lightening roughly 200 times per second. If we can take this power from the lightening we could use the energy to power out everyday electronic goods, meaning that we wouldn't have to rely on fossil fuels which of course cause ''global warming''

I have provided a diagram which is too scale.

(Joke image aside, if we could use the 200 lightening hits per second as usable electric/energy we could help 'save' the earth)

So, basically we have some random alien things with grey hair, transporting boxes to a man with no face and Jeremy Clarkson is doing one journey for one of them as we have "POOOWEEEERRR".

    Can you imagine catching lightning?

That's actually a pretty good idea but I'm sure you aren't the first person to think of that so there's probably problems with doing it..

No, but if you had large metal beacons or something dotted around the earth, if you catch maybe 30 an hour that would still be a hell of alot of electricity.

Why do think they have lightning conductors for? (Not all do this though.. it'd be way too dangerous having approximately 30,000 celcius currents going through the ground from every bolt)
You french fried when you should have pizza'd. If you french fry when you should pizza, you're gonna have a bad time....

The size of the earth in comparison to the amount of lightning is huge. Pretty impossible.
    Doubt everything, even this.

Thinking about it, Ashley is right

We cant get enough electricity to power the whole world with lightening alone
