I will pay max £500, I am looking for a decent one for gaming with a good graphics card with Nvidia only.

I just bought a nice one, and just finished building.

£518 with delv. Quad core, 4gb ram, 500gb HDD, however i already had a graphics card.

You don't need quad core and you don't need nvidia if you're on a £500 budget.

I got a decent one for 579, quad core, nvidia 8400 GS, 4 gb RAM, 500 gb hd, 1 year back to base warranty, y'know, the works. Matrix p9550.

That would be a nice system for him, exept he said "good graphics card"

It really depends what type of games you'll be playing though. If your only' playing something like flightsim a superfast card is going to be overkill. It's the processor that is more important in FS

If you're going to use it for gaming, instead of getting a Quad Core, I'd get a Core 2 Duo. The Intel Q6600 (2.4ghz Qaud) is the same price as the Intel E6850 (3.0 Core 2 Duo) and the E6850 will give you better gaming performance.

Zaub are you on crack?

Most modern games will use all four cores nowadays, and people have overclocked the Q6600 to about 3.6GHz.

So, if your going to run games like Crysis, FSX, Bioshock, those types of intensive games, they rely heavily on the CPU as well as the GPU so a Quad Core is your best bet.

But OP: On a budget like that you cannot define "Quad Core and Nvidia only" as it is a tight budget for very good components like that.

Are you going to need a monitor?
Can you build a ystem your self? etc etc

Tom, he's actually right about the Dual Core outperforming the quad in games for now. Unless he's going to overclock, data is going to be processed alot faster at 3.0 than 2.4GHz. I went from an E6300 to a Q6600 and Crysis didn't perform any smoother.

But as I said, for now.

If you want to prepare for future games, you should buy the quad core.

Newer games are beginning to take advantage of quad core processors. In fact some new games actually require you have at least a dual core processor.
