The Worst Anime Dubs

Ahh! It makes me cringe so much and the video barely scratches the surface!

There is also a hilarious Portuguese Dragon Ball Z dub where Cell just sounds absolutely mental - he is at 0:55 and 1:57.



Piccolo sounds a little odd as well.

Hmm... I think Sailor Moon personally It's got loadsa dialogue at the beginning of the vid btw, ;]

I think the cat english dub is the best

Oh Mew Mew Power (dub of Tokyo Mew Mew by 4Kids) truely sucks too.

Bleach just sounds wrong in English. Only the Japanese can make such stupid dialogue sound good. The Salior Moon dub is pretty dire as well and was just overall a bad job.

In a nutshell
1. Names changes - Zoro/Zolo, Smoker/Chaser, LogueTown/RogueTown, Ace/Trace,
2. Attack Names - Luffys attacks = Pistol/Blast, Bazooka/Double Barrel, Bullet/Burst, Shotgun/Quake, Rifle/Drill, Sickle/Fist. Sanji and Robins attacks that are in french and spanish are changed. And enemy moves are changed to Puns.
3. Music - Opening is changed to a rap song, The BGM is replaced completley with typical crappy american cartoon music that ruins the mood of some scenes.
4. Edits - cigs removed, Wine changed to water, Writing on books removed??, Japanese anime expressions removed, guns removed replaced with water guns, Bombs removed, Blood removed etc
5. Scenes - Scenes changed so the impact of the scene is totally ruined. Or just completely removed. Laboon was removed and Little Garden, Both which would ruin something in the future eps. And bellemere is told she is being taken away instead of being shot in the chest.
6. Voices/Dialogue - Crappy Voices for all characters Usopp and Sanji being 2 of the worst. And constantly throwing out cheap puns that only a 4 year old would find funny.

The fact 4kids butchered the show so it wasn't even the same show makes it the worst. 4kids wrecked OP's chances to be a big hit like Naruto in america and thats why its so hard to find someone who hasn't seen the 4kids version and made judgement on the series. [Was interupted twice while writing this by the door -.-]

i know D: luckily i never got into OP until 4kids dub was off tv and i was in college.

I dont think i heard a non-awful voice there. And wow at that song. Just wow.
