    Exclamation Word is being annoying

I've got a fully legal copy of Office 2007 Enterprise Edition on Windows XP Pro SP2, but whenever I try to edit files that are of the 97-2003 filetype, it will corrupt when I do a number of things, like attempt to insert a symbol or sometimes even delete a picture!
Can anyone help me with why this is happening?
(will be updated whenever I can be bothered to)

I'm not sure how to fix this error, but you could switch to OpenOffice which is baiscly microsoft office, but fetures named differently. works very well and contains no advertising :]

Unlike you Darren, I actually have a legit copy of Enterprise. My dad got it for £17 due to him being a medical student at one of the universities in the North East.
Can anyone actually help me with this problem?

My dad got it for £17 too for working in Department of Health.

Have you tried going on to Microsoft Tech Support site, that might help you with it.
