These are the sort of artists that need more recognition in the industry. Catchy lyrics, variates her vocal style and the things she sings about. All of the songs listed on her MySpace should be mainstream because they'd go straight to the top on Billboard no doubt, but it's not about talent in the industry these days so I doubt she'll get further than she has.

    Check her out, she's wicked.

    She is goooooood!!
Backstabber could do well over here I reckon - radio 1 love all indy pop.

What label is she signed to? Her page says she's signed major and she was featured in The Hills so I'm guessing it's something major.

Well according to her MySpace, she's signed to "Your mom" so that isn't exactly reliable. I don't really know, she really hasn't caught much mainstream attention at all. Google shows it, Youtube shows it, near enough everything shows it. Hopefully she gets big because with her talent, she deserves it.

    LOL!
Well she should come over here, some indy label would sign her and then radio 1 would playlist her. I swear, any band with any indy label or big name they'll play their records. It's almost impossible for any new R&B artists to enter the UK industry now

Exactly. Well I've added my Email to their mailing list so hopefully I'll manage to get more information through that, if not I'll just have to try and figure the crap out for myself amongst her meaningless rambles. She's crazy.

Thats because R&B isn't popular. whereas Indie is mainstream at the moment, the vast majority of music listeners and people who BUY CD's listen to Indie music.

It is popular though when big artists release, eg. Mariah, Beyonce etc.
They all still get good sales, and if the market allowed more diverse and different R&B acts to enter the industry then chances are they'd be successful. They just can't breakthrough.

Those artists aren't pure R&B though, they have some element of mainstream in them.
