    Default Firefox tweaking

Hey, I'm using a plugin called "Tweak Network Settings" for Firefox (2), and it has really sped up page loading time. However, I want to know something...

I currently have pipelining maxrequests at 8, but I changed it to 800 and I'm sure the pages loaded even quicker. But I want to know, can it cause problems having it too high? Also, what does it even mean?

    Thanks!

I'm no pro but I heard something about that websites can turn out dodgy if the maxrequests is way too high.

Okay thanks. If you set it as "power" it puts it to 8 so I suppose that's what it should be, not 800, but I think it went quicker...

Can somebody else confirm if it does or not?

I just did some in-depth searching for you.
800 is not too high for maxrequest value. You can go upto 55000 but after that it pretty much does not help.
I just changed mine and my firefox loads like never before!
Also, if you do experience problems you can always just change it back.
You can have problems here and there, but there are NO after effects as soon as you adjust it to something that works without problems.
I'm running 55000 and no problems yet.

Okay, thanks for the info! Although I've just downloaded Opera and it's even faster than Firefox when it's tweaked!

    Yes, I agree with you.
I'm just pretty attached to firefox, which is the reason i dont use Opera.

I'm trying, but sometimes I just dont feel at home when I'm browsing with Opera. I usually adapt very slowly when I already had something good.

It uses more CPU if you put it high.

Although it doesnt really matter if you got a good spec system.

True, my CPU is decent enough and I'm not having any problems.
