Default What do you do with your dead pet?

    Hi all
When your pets die, like hamsters or fish etc, do you throw them in the bin or something like that?

See, I am a keen tropical fish keeper, and I consider them as real pets, so I bury them in the garden when they die. Mum thinks I should put fish in the toilet but I think thats disrespectful. With all pets, regardless of size, I would bury them in the garden. There's a little patch of garden where I can bury them, there's quite a lot there.

So, do you bury pets or throw them in the bin?

How far down did you bury your cat? I would imagine a few foot to stop it smelling after a week or two? And was it in a box/coffin to try prevent smell?

    My cat ran away.
My Mum flushed my goldfish down the toilet.
My dog was cremated and sits on the shelves downstairs in a really nice box.

Not really, if you get an urn and keep the ashes in there. It's just cremation.
