I prefer infractions over user notes, infractions where a lot better because people could keep track of their behaviour and it was a lot better for moderators, now the moderators are working like they're slaves when they're going out of their free time to moderator for free. I don't see why you don't just keep infractions as it saves time and user notes doesn't really benefit anything.

So yeah, post here if you agree. Like the otherday I got a PM about a warning and I don't even know if that's going to be used against me as a bad user note..

Infractions have not left us. You just wont gain many unless you are a perssitant rule breaker.

The system is still the same as it was before, infractions still exist, there's just an extra step added to the equation to give people an extra chance. The old system was just a warning > infraction > caution > ban process this new system is PM > warning > infraction > caution (of varying length based on the number of infractions - cautions are often considered as a 'point of no return', any punishment after a caution is of the utmost severity) > ban.
As long as you're not a consistent rule breaker you won't have to worry about this system at all, usernotes do not count towards a ban, only infractions count.

Oh right I thought infractions where scrapped because someone said it was leaked from the moderator forums and that usernotes are back and infractions are going permanently.

And I think these new rules and stuff is more laberous for moderators, they need to confirm posts and everything..

Usernotes are back but its different from the old usernote system because you're made aware of when you receive a usernote. Under the old system you could gain 5-10 usernotes without actually realising and suddenly find yourself banned without even knowing you've broken any rules. Don't believe everything you hear about the Moderation Dept. Details of the Moderation Guide and plans for any changes are kept tightly under wraps, anyone caught leaking information will be punished and will most likely lose their job so its unlikely that the information you received was geniune.

The new system is more time consuming for Moderators but they appear to be coping very well with it and I really do applaud those who are making an excellent effort to adjust to the changes.

Confirming posts for new users is probably the best part of the whole change. Problematic users are getting caught a lot faster now mainly because they are so impatient to get 15 posts before causing problems. 15 posts to moderate is not a lot. It saves a lot of time because instead of editing posts, giving out infractions/user notes their posts can simply be unapproved and they can be reported to a smod to be perm banned. Even whilst waiting for the smod to perm the user, the user cannot cause any trouble as his/her posts are not visiable to the general public.

Nick said it all You have to be fairly persistant to even get an infraction. As for "getting a PM" that's what you get before you get an official warning. It's more like a nudge back into line rather than an official punishment, which a warning is. It builds good relations between mods and users and mods usually receive polite "ok, nice one" type messages in return which makes their jobs more pleasant. Yes, a bit more time has to be spent actually typing out the PM, but that's why there are 3 or 4 moderators in some sections so the workload is spread out The mods have been, on the whole, excellent at adapting to the new way of doing things and after the initial teething problems most mods seem to be enjoying it.

I disagree with what you said, especially above as they are not working like they're slaves because they are NOT forced to work as a moderator and I personally like the new system.
