Russia warns over US-Czech shield

Russia has said it will be forced to react with military means if the US and Czech Republic go ahead with plans for a missile shield.

The statement came hours after the US signed an initial deal to base part of Washington's controversial missile defence system in the Czech Republic.

Russia's foreign ministry said it would respond with military, not diplomatic, resources if the shield was deployed. Moscow says siting the system near its borders could weaken its own defence.

Russia will be stupid if they attacked America. They and the rest of of the world are completely outmatched.

I think they will need to go and get all their tanks back out the scrap yards lol they were a massive super power and now cant even crush the rebels in chechnya (sp? cant be bothered to check lol)

As opposed to America who are a massive super power and can't even crush the rebels in Iraq?

Russia would always fair well against the United States. They're about balanced equipment-wise, it's just down to the basic footsoldiers - there's more Russian but they're not as well trained.

tbh it would be an interesting war, however would we be alive to tell it? No probably not, that goes for the USA, the UK, Russia and their allies.

I see where the Russian's are coming from, it's unnecessary for the Americans to put their missiles there as it does pose a threat, I'm sure the Americans wouldn't be happy if the Russians did that in Mexico or Cuba?

The Americans have been warned and I'm sure they'd give a final warning and then act.

Although russia has alot of nuclear weapons still its military capability is pretty poor since alot of the country split away and made their own countires. Their planes and tanks etc are mostly very old now and not fitted with all the state of the art technology like the americans have.

I would think it easier to sort out a very small country thats joined to your own than sort out iraq which is much larger. I would put my cash on america if it kicked off but it wont come to that.

I dont think china would get involved but who knows how its going america will be at war with everybody how their going lol they fall out with just about everybody but then think they can do what they like.
Regarding iraq they should never have even bothered.
