My puppy might have to have surgery

I feel so sorry for him, he's only 5 months old.


Anyway, he seems to have something wrong with his hips, he's a cross so we're not sure what exactly's in him, but he's definitely mastiff-like, in that kind of area of breed.
And apparently in these kind of dogs it's common, he would have been born with it. We're getting him x-rayed this week, if it's not too bad then it might be treatable with medication, if not then he might have to have it replaced.
