no, you need the disc in the console to prove you own the game.

So what will be the point being able to have it on your HD? It will be very pointless, you should be able to choose what game to play from your HD but before you get it on your HD proove you own it.

Because if the disk doesn't spin the consoles doing less work so it wont heat up as much, it'll be quieter and it'll last longer in general
