I just saw that advert on the forum for Swoopo and I wondered whether it's genuine or not.

Prices seem too good to be true. Less than £20 for a DS.

Yes, it is genuine, but they use a clever system where you have to pay around 50p for every bid you place and when you bit you only increase the price by a set increment (around 7p I think it is). Also, time is added on to the auction (like 10 seconds per bid). So, basically the chance of winning an item is small, and you would have wasted 50ps putting bids on it, but if you manage to win an item then you have your self a good deal. you'd probably spend more overall though due to the cost of bidding and the chance of someone else bidding after you due to the time increase.

Wow, I think I'll forget bidding on that then. Thanks you two.
