    Default What's this processor like?

    Hi

    I'm recieving a new processor to replace my 3.4ghz single core, and i'm wonering if it's any good?

    Will it play FSX/FS2004 reasonably well if i also get the 8800gt 512mb, and 2gb RAM?

    FS2004 yes, but not even overclocked quad cores are any good with FSX at the moment on Ultra High. To be honest, for FS2004 you'd be better with your current CPU, but thats only because its oldish [FS04] and can only use 1 core.

    You will probably see a loss in FS2004, but in most new other apps it will be better

    Yeah that's pretty damn good, my laptop is a 1.8ghz and it runs fast so god knows what it'll be like for you! If you can overclock it a little, to like 2.6ghz then you'll know how you've been living in the past for so long.
