It does vary at the airport. Whatever airport you are flying from, check their website for any information. Just be normal, don't carry anything that they don't want you to. Also, never and i repeat never leave your luggage unattended.

Basically,
- Go through the entrance
- Find your check-in desk (Usually their, but you can see where you check-in by your flight number that will be displayed on the screen above)
- When asked put your first suitcase on and it will be weighed. Anything under 20KG is fine, anything over and it costs £11 something for every extra KG
- Put your second case on if you have a second case when asked, etc etc
- Once you have done that, you can go up to go into the waiting lounge. Usually it is up some stairs so you give your flight ticket and your passport to the guard person and follow through.
- You will then have to take all jackets, chains, watches, money, tissues, hand luggage etc etc into a tray to be scanned for illegal items. You then walk under a magnet detector and if you buzz, they check you over for metal items.
- You then go take a seat, wait for your plane to be announced for boarding
Make sure you find your flight number on the above screens of where you're flying to and check the boarding time so incase you miss the announcement, you'll know the time etc.
Turn your mobile phone off just as you board the plane, and don't turn it on during flight under any circumstance.
That's basically it.
If your with a group of school friends, you'll find it much easier so you won't need to worry as much as you can rely on them and the teachers. Sometimes you might need to be a little independent though
Enjoy your flight

yeah check in, show the pretty lady your passport, put bags on the belt, take your ticket and then walk through to security. once in security put bags in the trays, take your belt off and anything in your pockets into the tray. walk through the metal detector and if it beeps, stop and hold your arms out. you'll get felt up by a male official and he'll pass some stick around you that detects any bomb-like substances. if the metal detector does not bleep, do not shout out "YES" or look relieved, as this will only arouse suspicion (just kidding)
once through, take your bag from trays etc, then go through to departures. Basically you're trapped in there (ehe) until your flight goes. do whatever you need there, shop, eat, etc. when your flights called for boarding join the queue of restless englishmen as they all try and scramble for the best seats. once seated on the plane, watch the pretty cabin crew bend over and do their safety demonstrations.
you'll takeoff, you'll get a feeling similar to rick waller or michelle mcmanus sitting in your lap. you'll then fly to wherever, and the trolly dollies will be providing in flight snacks and stuff should you so wish.
once you land, you'll probably either walk to the terminal or a bus will take you there. if it depends on where you arrive, pedro or paddy will be at the customs desk awaiting your passport to confirm your ID. once you're through, go to the relevent conveyer belt to collect your luggage.
just follow your mates i say if your a newcomers (y)

y'know.
I meant metal detector btw
Yeah, they'll ask you security questions about like has anyone handled the bags, and say if your mum has packed it for your, still say no cuz then you dont have to open the bag up etc and cause delays, but if you think someone has actually interfered with your bag, so own up lol.
don't jump the ticket barrier.
