    I'd say it depends what type of computer it's going to be and what it's going to be used for.

    As far as I know, more energy efficient and you get more for your money (the Core 2 DUO range that is).

    If you're going for a lower spec machine and looking to choose between an Intel Pentium D and an AMD Athlon 64 X2 then the AMD is the one to choose.

    I've seen 3.2s. I'll check now.

    There is a 3.33 GHz, 3.46 GHz, and 3.6GHz according to Wiki.


    Edit: some on the Intel site as well. No 3.4s though . http://compare.intel.com/pcc/default.aspx?familyID=3
