Default Would it be a good idea to upgrade this laptop?

Well see i bought this laptop off ebay and i love it so far. It has a Pentium III, 750MHz, 385MB (i think) of RAM. 18GB hard drive (I dont mind it) and it has Windows 2000. Its an IBM Thinkpad A20p. I hope it stays alive for a long time..Thats the only thing thats worrying me. I would LOVE to buy XP for it and upgrade the RAM a little bit but :S Id want this laptop to stay with me for a while if i do decide to upgrade. So How long do laptops last? I wouldnt want to have to buy expensive parts for it and it adds up to be a brand new laptop with Vista on it where u could get it at a store you know? So Should i upgrade it at all?

You can't upgrade that laptop, its very old and you really shouldn't of bought it. That won't last for even 2 months, i can assure you.

Upgrade the RAM and that's about it. Keep Windows 2000 as it's actually a very good OS. If you run out of storage space use something like an external hard drive. If you could run this scan and post the results please. http://www.crucial.com/uk/systemscanner/index.aspx

How much did you pay for it and do you have/need a wireless card?

I bought it off ebay. Yes i do use a wireless card. Those are the default specs...i guess the previous owner upgraded this.Well i only paied 10$ out of my own pocket cause i had gotten 60$ ebay gift certificate, and 60$ from a website via paypal. So all i paied really was 10$ :-] But the total was 130$. I doubt its gonna die in 2 months. Shape is good. Only thing i dont like about Windows 2000 is that it reminds me of 98 and it just looks horrible . Oh and i cant play habbo on it Some reason it wont let me.
