I adore this movie! The music is amazing and I dont agree how people can think its gory, you only see about 3 people get their necks slit. Plus one of the actors is from northern Ireland![]()

I am not a fan of musicals. The only reason I saw this film was because Tim Burton directed. It was okay visually, but that's about it. And yes, gore-wise, it was very tame.
Tim Burton is amazing; Plus the fact he used Helena because she suits those type of films and johnny depp, well he is just in everything time burton directs lol
It could also be due to the fact that Helena and Tim are married?
But I do agree, she does suit morose-type films. I do love the musical, but I wouldn't say I adore the movie.
she begged him to put her straight itno the movie but she had to audition and stuff so she got it fair and square![]()
Gore? What gore?Violence & Gore
EditHistory
Sweeney Todd beats a man with a boiling tea kettle, then slits his throat. Five nameless men get their throat slit by Sweeney, then fall through a trap door on to their heads. Those six people's flesh is baked into meat pies. Sweeney Todd also slits the thoat of a man who comes to investigate the business, although, not on screen, his corpse falls on the ground, and brain splatters everywhere. Also he slits the throat of the a random beggar woman. he stabs a man in his jugular with a razor three times, then slashes his throat. Sweeney Todd throws someone in an oven, and you see them burning. a characters throat is slit by another angry young man. There is lot's of blood in this movie, and the violence is meant to look artistic, yet graphic.
I loved the film thoughI especially loved how everything was grey/dull and red.
