    Default Keyboard/Mouse Issues?

    Hey,

On my reasonably old pc, the keyboard/mouse isnt working.

Now I know you might be like, well surely it isnt plugged in right or something but here is the strange thing.

Before POST - It works, I can enter BIOS setup etc.
After POST, it wont work until Windows starts.

Now I am trying to wipe the PC using my trusty "Reload Backup CD" which was given to me by the company when I bought the PC.

Now I need to be able to use the keyboard to select the reload option but whenever I get into the disc's menu I cant do anything because the Keyboard wont work!

    Help me! Please! lol

Try another keyboard to restore your computer and then install the driver's you need for your current keyboard and mouse.

How odd, were they both USB keyboards?

If you've got a none-USB keyboard and one of the traditional keyboard sockets on your computer try one of them as they don't require drivers.

The first keyboard I tried was USB & PS/2 (The mouse one is plugged in then it also plugs into a USB port) I had something that converted the USB to a PS/2 but I cant seem to find that.

The second keyboard is USB - My old PS/2 keyboard was broken by my brother's family so thats no longer a viable option, just about to try again!

EDIT - Nope, USB Keyboard is still not working - Im going to have to go on a hunt for this PS/2 converter

Got a PS/2 keyboard, and guess what - the keyboard doesn't even work!

This is really weird, I dont see why it works before post - dies and then works again when we get into windows?

    Gah!
