    Default Turned into a rant.

This was originally a goodbye message, but it turned into a rant, which I'd like to voice. So ignore the bits about me leaving.

Time has come for me to leave.

Kind of getting bored, too many annoying people on here. For the people that aren't, thanks for making my stay enjoyable. The flaming/trolling on here is getting unbearable. So maybe I'll be back some time. But for a while I'm going to go to other forums, people on here are just way too egotistical, many of you will say the same about me. The sad thing is people will say I lie or something like that, then when I provide 'proof', they give some inconsequential grunt of a response that's supposed to be an insult. Anyway, hope you guys all do well. I might come back soon. Hopefully this generation of idiots will leave at some point. Funnily enough, only D&D is that bad. All the other forums are really good. That and maybe the Technology forum. People also seem to get very jealous, saying things like "You don't even appreciate that," "give it to somebody who would appreciate it." Which is kind of pointless considering that everybody in those two forums thinks that they are the best at everything in their 'field'. Which creates huge arguments about so and so doesn't know anything. I join in. I can't help it, in case anybody was wondering it usually works like this:
    1. A says something controversial
    2. B says something against what A said
    3. A & B try to prove each other wrong
    4. A & B now hate each other
    5. At every point, A & B now try and correct each other, resulting in many arguments, and many non-hate threads turning into arguments, spam, and then some.
This is somewhat of a small-minded view on this. It's just a basic example to give anybody who doesn't get what is happening clued in.

So D&D is just a version of this with a few complexities magnified by one hundred. Not fun. It's become almost tiring to try and post in there, literally, because of the hate people show, if pretty much anybody posted a legitimate thread in there people will jump on them, often with silly responses that don't even make sense.

And then if anybody comes in there posting a thread, people usually just link them to a Google search, along with a snide comment, which usually then sparks an argument, in a thread where the OP is not even doing anything, people need to use something called Private Messaging. Nobody does anymore. Probably because it's like removed from your user thing at the top, well at least, it is for me.

In fact, the idea of posting a link to a Google search is completely stupid, I don't understand why anybody would do this, considering a forum is for discussing, a concept which many users are still to grasp, maybe users could have a discussion about a topic like that, or something on the same lines.

Another point, a while ago Elkaa posted an announcement about zero toleration on trolls, in D&D and Sports, seeing as those were the main culprits. I don't even know what happened with that, that's the problem with the entire system. Maybe less knowledgeable users might not be able to sign up after a permanent ban, but the users in D&D are clever enough to figure out how to change things like that. This makes it near impossible to block off bad users. I'm pretty sure some of them are banned, but they just re-appear with names such as Old-user-1. Or something like that. Which makes it impossible to keep bad users off, so what is the point of it in the first place.

Again, there are also users who keep multiple accounts, I don't know if this is a rule or not, but it's stupid to be honest. I've seen a lot of users, who have multiple accounts, and post on multiple accounts, almost systematically. I don't understand how moderators don't do anything about this.

This brings me to my final point, moderation. Or the lack thereof. Moderation is almost nonexistent, it seems that moderators follow most things to the letter. Which isn't bad in some case. But they need better systems for moderation, like when I had a picture of myself posted in a thread I made, it got removed, and the user probably got an infraction, then just recently, they made a totally uncalled for post, with that same picture in it again. It got removed and the thread got closed and the user got *cautioned*. Sorry, but what the hell is that? *cautioned*? He posted me twice, he obviously didn't learn his lesson, and he even commented on that, I spoke to the moderator who addressed the problem, and I then PM'd joshuar, who told me to forward it to Professor-Alex, and I did, as of yet, I've not to receive a response. To be honest, I don't care, even somebody as stupid as he is knows that he can easily make a new account even after a permanent ban.

Well, sorry my farewell message turned into a rant.

Over and out, (after I reply to these comments).

    Charlie.
How could this hapen to meeeeeeeeeeeeeee?lol.

I haven't bough myself to read it all I did read the bit about your examples and they have a rule already in place for that I believe and I think it's 'Don't feed the troll.' Which is basically me trying to wind you up, then it works and then you re act really angrily, we would probably both get infractioned, you for being rude or whatever and me for feeding the troll.

I hope that's right.. Someone do correct me if I'm wrong.

It happens alot but the mods can only take action if someones actually offensive and if they are then they will be dealt with.
    I love it when you

At the end of the day it's a forum where people are going to voice their views and opinions, that is the general idea of how a forum works. Yeah there are some annoying idiots on here but I'd say they're in a vast minority. A lot of people are genuine and pretty nice once you make the effort to get to know them. It's very rare that I start a conversation with someone and they're rude.

This is somewhat of a small-minded view on this. It's just a basic example to give anybody who doesn't get what is happening clued in.

It's become almost tiring to try and post in there, literally, because of the hate people show, if pretty much anybody posted a legitimate thread in there people will jump on them, often with silly responses that don't even make sense.
Then people can put people on their ignore list. You have to remember that a lot of people who post these silly replies are doing it to be funny or trigger a reaction from the thread starter. If they manage to annoy the thread starter they see as it they've "won".

Again, these silly snide remarks can be ignored and reported. I would hope that a moderator would take action but of course that can't be promised. PM's can be set back to normal like they were originally with a bit of fiddling in your USER cp. Google can be helpful a lot of times anyway if someone needs help.

Another point, a while ago Elkaa posted an announcement about zero toleration on trolls, in D&D and Sports, seeing as those were the main culprits. Which makes it impossible to keep bad users off, so what is the point of it in the first place.
If they constantly sign up just to cause trouble they will be placed on the auto ban list after a while and then they will just be banned constantly. People who this happens to do get bored eventually and will stop making accounts thus having a better community feel!

Again, there are also users who keep multiple accounts, I don't know if this is a rule or not, but it's stupid to be honest. I've seen a lot of users, who have multiple accounts, and post on multiple accounts, almost systematically. I don't understand how moderators don't do anything about this.
I don't see how this effects you if people want multiple accounts. For example sierk uses sierk and sierk1 and that's not a problem. He has one for when he's at home and one for when he's away and not on his main computer I believe for security reasons. Maybe other users have valid reasons why they desire to use multiple accounts too.

I'm sure Professor-Alex gets more then enough PMs to which he has to reply to. It's possible that yours has been read and he meant to address it then got distracted with something else forum related. I know that often happened to me, management are only human, I think. I've never been a huge fan of moderation myself anyway so I won't give my views on that.

Your obvious small minded veiw of moderation is one of the things which caused people such as me to quit.

Cautioned, for a start, is an Smod action, which prevents the user from recieving PM's ect.

It's the step before a ban.

    IP ban ftw.

    Autoban list. Ftw.

    Love, Sam x.
    PM me for help.

I can agree with you Charlie. The A & B persons happens to me sometimes too. People trying to get me away from the forum, instead of being happy having me here

I can say that there are other forums, which are very friendly. But here, only a few persons in the D&D forums are nice.

But I quite like this forum anyways

Good bye, Charlie. Hope to see you sometime.

That's not a rule, just something we try to encourage to stop threads escalating into arguments. The person who started it, if deemed to have done it deliberately, will be the one warned about it.

As for the thread I can't build upon what Jake said, unfortunately as much as want to we can't change the attitude and maturity level of some members, its just what you get on a teen forum. Of course the person who starts it is only one half of the matter, people fuelling it by responding aren't helping either.

And for the record, I replied to the PM either just before or as he was typing the thread

Why do you bring that up in every thread? It's not as if you were important or anything. Nobody cares that you quit lol.

It's not even uncommon for staff members to be guilty of doing this.
