Default What Laptop Should I Get? +Rep

Basically if I pass my driving lessons my dad will reward me with basically the best laptop available at Christmas. I'm obviously going to take advantage of this oppertunity and get the best one I can find. I currently have a Sony VAIO VGN-AR51J and have had it for nearly a year and I adore it so I wouldn't mind getting the latest Sony VAIO. But there's probally are many better laptops than that. So if you could reccomend me a laptop and post a link to more information about it then I would happily +rep you. I would appreciate it even more if you could find one that isn't even out yet and will be out around Christmas to ensure that it has all the latest technology. As I don't want it be outdated as quick since this will be my last big present, as when I turn 18 there will be no more presents from my parents! I only want one with Windows Vista built in aswell so basically no Mac's. (unless you can some how persuade me that mac's are the best).

I know you said the best laptop, but how much would be the most expensive acceptable because you can go very expensive like £4000 sort of thing lol.

I know you said no macs but hear me out.

October the 14th steve jobs is doing another keynote. Now there is a verry verry good chance we will be having a new macbook. I would wait and have a look at it.

I love mac osx as soon as i first used it in 10.2 i have loved it and quite recently i have botted out that pc and just gone full mac.

Macs are seriously over priced comparing the hardware with PCs. That is a FACT. You cannot argue with that.

If you really want the OS then checkout the OSX project for compatible hardware and just install Mac OSX on it - will be alot cheaper, trust me.

I have seen quite a few nice laptops recently, which I presume will be out for xmas. Saying that price is no object these look pretty nice:

Gave all +Rep's except N!ck because I've already +repped you recently so it won't let me.

Everytime I look at a Sony VAIO they always seem to make me want one. So I'm edging towards the latest Sony VAIO.

And £5000 is probally the maximum I would be getting, although I very much doubt that I would need a laptop as much as that for what I use laptops for. Aslong as they are speedy and have good graphics/sound then it is good enough for me.

Yeah just go with a high end Vaio then. While you're not getting value for money it's still a hell of a lot better value than spending £4000 on an Alienware or something. You're just paying for brand names.
