Announced last Friday, you can now download all BBC iPlayer movies in DRM-Protected .wmv format, unfortunately this means they'll still expire but it eliminates the need for the iPlayer on Windows based computers.
Simply click 'Download' and select 'Media Players' and it'll download the .wmv
It works within Windows Media Player, majority of Smartphones now (Including Windows Mobile compatibility!) and if you pop it on a USB Stick or share it to your Xbox 360, you can also watch them on there.

Archos: 605 WIFI and Internet Media Tablet
Samsung: YP-P2, YP-Q1
Nokia: N96
