Buying a better connectio is the only way. VM's upload is 512Kbps on the 10Mbps package right? So about 50-60KB/s. Virgin Media sucks for upload speed in comparison to download.

    Post a speedtest?

Yes, and they will go "Yes of course you can, just upgrade to our 20Mbps or 50Mbps package".

50/30 is fast, but it's not mega fast.

I don't think current consumer packages cater to large upload requirements. Chances are you'd be looking down the business route or a more obscure provider.

I agree 50MB upload is fast,
    but 30MB UPLOAD isn't mega-fast?

30MB upload is one of the fastest upload speeds you can get in the UK. Only universities, schools and a select few business's can get speeds like that.

From what I can gather, BeThere has a good Download:Upload ratio compared to others, it's an improvement on Virgin Media that's for sure but by no means fast.

I'm hitting 50MB upload at uni which is ridiculous, but I imagine there are sources hitting still higher than that. Speeds are only "mega-fast" when they are put in perspective. Agreed, 30MB is ridiculously fast and unnecessary for most purposes, but knowing there are sources out there hitting higher than my max, they would be "mega-fast". I guess it's all semantics and perspective.

But to put it in perspective for the OP, I've got an image. The top four values are not relevant, but the bottom three are.

You are just under the UK average for upload speed. To go a remarkable way over the average is going to cost you a disproportionate bit of moolah. For the little bit of time saved uploading things to YouTube, you would be paying an unnecessary amount.

Oh, and never forget that your connection isn't always the weakest link. A benefit of having a ridiculously high download is the realisation that your download speed can be restrained by other effects (such as crap servers or speed cap limits on sites). I would guess upload speeds could be hampered in the same way, but I don't know enough about servers to back that up.

Edit: I'm tired, but check this out. You might want to check out some of these listed names.
