    Default What would you do?

Right, I'm totally confused about what I should do now.
At about 12:10 this morning my house come under "attack" with eggs, bricks and other various things from neighbours next door, there was a lot of people around there in like the age range of 20-30, loud music all that stuff. I then called my dad to come up in case of trouble, he said to call the police in stead because he didn't want to wake my youngest brother.

We called the police at about 12:30 and they said a unit had been dispatched, we waited for them to arrive. Almost an hour later after we had called we received a call asking if we still required the service we obviously said yeah because it was still on going.

We waited again yet another hour until they then called again, they told us to answer the door. We couldn't hear anything, we opened the doors and there wasn't any officers there. We told the man on the phone, and he asked us to confirm the address - the address was wrong, turns out the operator didn't give the right address, even though we confirmed it twice. We thought okay, they'll just come to our address. But the address they were sent to was in Willenhall (which is out of our district) the officer on the phone told us he would pass it on to our local station.

After another hour of waiting, we received a kind of call but it rang once and then stopped. We then contacted the police station only to discover we were not going to be seen to until today.

So, today is here and we receive a call telling us that we would be contacted by some PCSO's.

I think it's quite appauling and I'm wondering what any of you would do in this situation. Make a complaint or whatever?

Did you ring 999 or just the police station?

I'm not stupid, and I didn't just say eggs, I wouldn't call the police because of a few eggs. I actually said eggs, bricks and various other things. A few bricks and slabs were thrown at the door and intimidation and threats from neighbours. We didn't expect them to come straight away but it's pretty appauling that they actually woke someone up at 2:30 in the morning because of a mistake that the operator had made. If our lives were in danger then it would have been pointlesss us calling the emergency services.

And 999 isn't just for lives in danger, it's for crimes in progress.

Can I ask if your home was the only one being attacked? Or where other neighbours also included?

We once had a stone thrown through our window and only called the local police they took ages to come and we were told by the policeman who turned up to next time calll 999....
I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s okay, because we’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know. It was the best. A daft old man who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it. I always meant to take it back. Oh, that box, Amy, you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you. Big and little at the same time. Brand-new and ancient and the bluest blue ever. And the times we had, eh? Would had…Never had. In your dreams, they’ll still be there. The Doctor and Amy Pond and the days that never came.

Must of been quite scary, to feel threatened and intimidated in your own home. Did you take any photos? Were any windows broken? Have you had problems with the neighbour before?

If you have had problems in the past then serious action needs to be taken, before it goes any further and someone is seriously harmed. I don't know anything about the area you live in or whether it's possible to move home. But if they get away with it, then there is a chance it could happen again.

Do you have a neighbourhood watch in your area? I believe there is normally one member of the team that includes the police, so it could be worth having a chat with them, and getting some good advice, because I like others here aren't qualified to give you the advice you really need.

I think what happened with your calls is a total disgrace, and should this situation ever occur again, you need to emphasise how serious things are and that there are frightened children in the house. Personally I would lay it on real hard to ensure they act fast!
