Why is it filtered?

Why is the word "lmfao" filtered?
It can't be use against anybody so I don't see the point in it being filtered.

Also if it's because it contains a filtered word inside the abreviation, then why isn't "gtfo" also filtered?

saying lmao with the f in it is just a habbit and it's getting annoying when i type it without realising it's filtered and have to edit incase people think i'm swearing at them or something :rolleyes:

I remember long ago when I was a moderator, "gtfo" is one of the things I would search for as a keyword when giving out infractions and warnings. Although it was suggested that the word should be added to the forum filter it was argued that the word shouldn't be added as forum members would simply "find another word to use", which to me just gives little reason to use a word filter at all.

I agree this word is hardly offensive, considering Habbox no longer seem to filter words as of means to not cause offense to younger members, but rather to prevent arguements between members (which I think is a much more just cause) then it does seem that the word in question should be unfiltered, where as gtfo should be added.

This is a good point however the words include an abbreviation for a word that is filtered which is the subsequent reason for those sorts of words being on the filter. To some extent I don't see how ***** would be directed at someone else in a way that lmao couldn't be? It's mainly down the the "f" word that is abbreviated I believe. Thanks for your feedback.
