Buying BMX in 12 days (Birthday :D)

So any ideas?

i dont know anything about bikes so could someone teach me on which bike does what?

All i know is that i want is bmx pls

200 quid to 260

I can make it to 300 but i think i want to buy stuff with that

Ok so if your wanting a BMX you'll want one with a good crank on it.
(Thats the bits where the pedals go) Theres two common types. 1 and 3 piece.
This is how many bits they are. 1's are lighter but MUCH MUCH MUCH more weaker. where as 3 is heavier but way stronger.

Next up is the brakes. Theres three types
V brake
U brake
And Horse shoe

Horse shoe is crap and im not even going to go there as its not worth the time.
Again V brakes is the same, theses are only good on racing bmx's which you really dont want.
and U brakes are the best for what u will use it. You can feather them but they will also stop you when needed.

Next up is your frame material
You will get
aluminium
Steel
And chromoly
Aluminium is only good for racing bmx's as if u did a trick on it it would just crack.
Steel is strong but heavy
Chromoly is lighter and stronger than steel so you obv will want that one!

Next up is your gyro, do you really need it?
Lots of riders not just go for a rear brake and have a longer cable(Known as street mainly) so you can still do bar spins.

Now your bmx's to go for.
The GT and mongoose range are awesome this year but We The People's are so much better! only problem is that theres limited stock! where as the GT's and mongooses theres loads of them although near xmas its getting harder and harder to get hold of them.
Some good ones to go for? GT performer, Mongoose Rouge, GT bump and any of the We the people range.

Never buy it online you will probs break it setting it all up!(No it doesnt come ridable)
