Right I want one for my new bedroom but we got one downstairs in living room and my mum and dad are saying its one sky+ box per house? Is it true? If not how many can you get.

As many as you like I think, but only 2 Sky+ boxes per dish (they only have 4 connections, each Sky+ box has 2)
