Default Will PS3 ports be blocked at College?

I think this forums best suited, as the people in the games forum might not know about networking etc..

Well on Friday, im taking my PS3 into college as its our last day this year.

But I was wondering, will the ports the PS3 use be blocked on the network?

    I think the ports are:

    TCP:

    • 80
    • 443
    • 5223

    UDP:

    • 3478
    • 3479

I have no clue about ports, so yea..

I wouldn't have thought so. They are just the standard internet ports aren't they?

Well whenever you have access to a college computer, use this address to check if the ports are open

    http://www.utorrent.com/testport.php?port=

after the port= part, type in the port and go to the site. It will then tell you if it is open or not. Just do it for each of them

As ***** said, it depends on the college, mine don't even allow ftp :|
This is our situation and we're happy to be here,
I wouldn't change this place for anything.

It depends on the college. Mine uses a proxy server on the network which requires your login details for it to spit internet at you. Far as i'm aware the PS3 doesn't allow you to autheticate with a proxy with a username and pass, so it wouldn't work at mine.

Id think the UDP ports would be, but it does depend on the college!
