    • Don't make all backgrounds diagonal stripes.
    • Don't have lots of harsh gradients.
    • Stick to a colour scheme.

    Shading can be nice depending on the layout you are making. Some layouts would look horrible with shading and others would look better.

    The outcome of the desgin depends on the creator. It's art and you decide how to make it look.

    Don't make un-organised layouts with boxes every where.

    Make sure the boxes are all equal in sizes. It looks so ugly when it's all random.

    Please don't use all the colors of the rainbow :]

    Dont use the deault paint logos

    Suttle gradients

    Stickt to a set of colours

    The main things are probably that it should look nice, and have a color scheme, and that it should be simple to navigate around.
