    Default What Defines A Foul?

Well i was watching football the other day, with a few people round my house, and i heard 'C'mon he got the ball' after someone got a foul, But i hear this all the time.

It seems we've got so acustomed to this rule that if the player touches or gets the ball it isn't a foul, but how can we rely a decision on this rule soley, when its only a fact that they assume is true due to past experiences.

What if somebody comes two-foot sliding in and misstimes it, takes down the player injuring him, but may just catch the ball, even thought a pure mistake by the player and obvious foul do you assume its not a foul because they 'got the ball' i was just thinking as i think alot of fans assume theres a rule that if they get the ball its not a foul.

If he wins the ball, he has eyes for the ball not the player therefore he is not committing an offence. If he had eyes for the ball but takes the player, it is a foul.

Well either way, i know people who think 'if he touches/gets the ball, its not a foul'

which i think is pathetic basing the decision on just a touch.

Well if he comes in from the back takes the man then pushes the ball away thats a foul.

A foul in football (soccer) is an unfair act by a player which is deemed by the referee to contravene Law 12 of the Laws of the Game
