Sims 2 problem

Hi, when I go to launch the sims 2 or any of the extensions it comes up with a black screen, when i go to task manager and close it this error comes up;



Anyone know why? :S
I've tried re-installing directX 9.

you need a graphics adapter that will work for sims 2 or im just being stupid and you need to clean your discs? o idk.

I sort of have that when I tried playing through Mansion and Garden Stuff. It appears the previous expansion pack worked in the end...

Do you remember what expansion pack worked before this? Try that Or find the Sims2Launcher.exe and play through that.

Right click on the Sims 2 Icon > Run as Administrator try that

Right click > properties > try running in XP compatibility mode?

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Apartment Life\TSBin\Sims2Launcher.exe

That's what worked for me.

You'll need to change "\The Sims 2 Apartment Life\" to whatever expansion packs you've got though. So:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Open For Business\TSBin\Sims2Launcher.exe

Might work

Hmmm, Open for Business shouldn't have a Launcher as far as I am aware though...
