    OK so i know how to dual boot but i need to find partitioning software that will allow me to resize my hdd so i can install ubuntu

    You can do it from the ubuntu installer. It is very simple

    If you do require something other than the ubuntu installer then use gparted live. Its around 40 - 50mb, just burn, boot into it and resize.

    When i had Ubuntu installed, it allowed me to create a partition using the installer, so just run it and create a new partition, then install it onto that.
