VOIP - How does it work?

yeah im just wondeirng how it works and how much it costs..

VOIP is free if its like PC - PC, but will cost if its like Skype PC to Landline. It depends on the rates, like on Skype, www.skype.com, they have a rates page.

VOIP is just like when you browse a web page, packets of data are sent backwards and forwards, a bit like downloading music and uploading music.

So could i get a VOIP which gives them a landline number but then goes to my PC or my Mobile and charges them a little extra?

Yeh, Skype do this, it won't charge them extra, itll be normal rates for them. Skype has "Skype in" which allows a number to forward to your PC.
