Itunes tells me i need to restore my ipod but when i try to do so I got the above error?

Go into your application data folder, then into the itunes folder, then you should see the firmware's you have had on your ipod, double click the one you want and itunes will install it on your ipod.
Lets set the stage on fire, and hollywood will be jealous.

Restart your computer and boot your iPod into DFU mode by holding sleep and home together until it appears in iTunes, then let go of sleep and keep pressing home for five seconds. Then restore through that.
