The Sims Stories games are standalone games and do not support expansion packs or stuff packs from The Sims or The Sims 2 collections, so no you do not need The Sims 2.

I have played the game, I see it a bit funner than Sims 2 Base game due to you having objectives to do.

Try Argos or order it online at the sims 2 website.

Life Stories is a bit more fun since there are goals, there's also pet stories and castaway stories.

I wouldn't waste your money on The Sims 2 and the expansions/stuff packs because The Sims 3 is out in feb.

I agree. I think you'll be okay playing with Life Stories for now since it's pretty much the same thing as the Sims 2 anyway.

And if you already have the money, I think you should save it for the feb.20 launch of the sims 3.
