Jailbreaking 2nd Gen

Last I heard it wasent possible to jailbreak a 2nd gen ipod touch. But than I heard something was coming out on the 1st of January. So did anything come out to make it possible? If so how do I jailbreak it? And do I get all paid apps for free then? And if I do something wrong when I'm doing it can I just restore it and itll be all good?

Exactly what i was thinking. Theres a lot of people complaining about the new 2.2 jailbreak. And since its not compatible with 2nd gens im sure they will make one sometime soon.
