    Default Laptop wireless [+REP]

    Hello,

    I have recently just got my wireless working and its working fine for my Desktop downstairs but why i try to connect wirelessly from up stairs on vista the 2 computers stay normal and dont get a globe round them, and when i click the connection there is a X between unidentified network and internet.

    I just dont get what's wrong any information will be appreciated and REP given out thanks

    Maybe your wireless isnt strong enough to work upstairs?

    Screenshots would be good.

    Yeah has 4-5 bars upstairs and is very difficult to get screenshots as im on the pc now and the laptop doesn't have internet access but i'll try get some photo's.

    i'm assuming you mean like this



    has it connected to your network, can you access shared files etc, but just not the internet?

    tried restarting the modem/router?

    Just checking the computers that don't pick up the wireless do have wireless receivers plugged in them, right?

    Yeah that's the one i cant access anything no internet no files.

    Start > run > cmd > ipconfig, it'll have "Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . . . ___.___._._"

    type the number into internet explorer or any browser, it should open your routers setting, does it do that?
