Habbo Says Farewell To Cameras

As expected, Camera functionality is removed.

You've probably noticed by now that cameras have been disabled in Habbo for quite a while. We regret to inform you that after much consideration, Habbo has decided not to restore the photo-shooting functionality on the camera.

This decision has been made because of the way that cameras work in Habbo. The way they save the image makes them vulnerable to scripting and possibly harmful actions inside the Hotel. We want Habbo to be as safe as possible to use and in order to achieve this, camera functionality had to be removed.

If you own a camera and film, then there is no need to worry. The camera will remain in your possession as a regular, non functioning item of Furniture. You have also been given some Credits as compensation for not being able to use your camera the way you could before and for having unused film in your possession.

The amount of Credits you receive depends on how many unused films you own but you must have a minimum of three films in order to qualify for the compensation (this is because the camera used to come with two free films when it was purchased).

We are sorry that we had to take away this popular feature within the Hotel, but would like to assure you that we are busy working on many new features that we hope will be just as popular in the future.

So what does that mean for the actual photographs? They're no longer going to be viewable or are they remaining the same?

That is the nail in the coffin to rule out old Habbo then, it was about the only older function of Habbo that was good. Photos were great especially when you had a room full. This is the worse thing they have ever done by far in my opinion. They should of just remove the text bit or something, im sure that there coders who will be on thousands a month could find a new solution. What a joke.. Oh btw i got 15 creds but i dont remember how much film i had.

Some people spent 100's of credits on film, it was expensive in the first place,but if they have used the film, they don't get refunds?

They should Compensate the people who have photos, as they're no longer viewable.

I agree. I had a camera, and a couple of film, I think I got compensated like, 3 creds or something? No idea, I didnt check how many I had beforehand.

Thats probs why they went down earlier.

Also its a shame cos MissAlice had an amazing room of photos dedicated to Hobbas. Had every hobbas name on each photo.

im sad to see the pictures and photographs go but i am wondering what those "new features" might be!

and any word on what will happen to the pictures u got in your room?
