    Default Moving Out

So, the title kinda says it all - should I move out?

I currently live with my mum and little brother.. and well, I feel like it's time to change and move out. Luckily, my girlfriend feels the same. However, I wonder how difficult it will be to find somewhere.

We're considering going on the council housing register, but who knows how long that will take.

Just wanna know what you guys think, really.

    • I'm 16, my girlfriend is too
    • She lives with her parents, 2 brothers and sister
    • I attend full-time 6th form and have a part-time job
    • My girlfriend intends to leave 6th form and get a full-time job

    Ideas? Suggestions? Comments?

    Go for it!

Personally, i don't think you should, If it's the fact of living togetha then move in with each other in one of the houses, Think about it.. Your at 6 form + Part time job. You wont be able to afford rent let alone the Council tax + Poll Tax + Electric + Water Bills + Access if somthing gets broken, Thats what i did i was with a girl for 3Years, She moved in with me stuff happend didn't work out, But maybe your stronger theres no point getting a place togetha unless you know you can live with each other so do as i said and try moving into one of the parents houses togetha.

You are too young. Although you can leave home at 16 with parents concent you will definately not have enough money behind you or experience to deal with the normal things which come with living on your own. You need to keep a free mind for your studies and not having to worry too much on other htings which you shouldnt have to worry about. If your desperate to move out, wait untill you have completed your A levels and during that time save like mad to get as much money as you and your girlfriend can get behind you for the best start possible.

I don't think you should. It will cost a lot and being with someone permanently will make you feel completely different about them.

Owww Jay :-( Stay under the shelter of your parents for as long as possible until its just considered weird... There're so many bills and tax out there that go right over our heads and its oh so good that way lmao!

I'd say - enjoy being 16 in 6 form! Being able to come back home completely mashed, spending any money you do earn on whatever the hell you want because you've got no bills to pay, having meals there for you not having to pay for food etc.....

But I don't know the full sitch! Soooooo

I disagree :-) I think the word you should have used it 'it may cost a lot'. I know (or at least I think I do) that Jay and his girlfriend have been together a very very long time... It depends how strong the relationship is. I spent 3 months living with my boyfriend in Spain, he's like my best friend, it just made us stronger.

I spent three years with my girlfriend. We'd spend weeks together at a time and it'd just be like "can I please get 5 minutes to myself?" and something big would kick off.
We looked at how much it'd cost, you're looking at upwards of £150 a month rent, £300+ food, then there's money for going out, clothes, internet, phone, tv etc. That's gonna be more than you'll afford on a part time and a no qualification full time salary.

I wanted to move out too but with my student loan and my car with only a part time job there was no way I could afford to.
