Default Slow as a dead tortoise... or slower...

My laptop just seems to be unbelievably slow for no reason!

I literally only have a few extra applications like Msn, iTunes, AVG, ZA and then pretty much nothing but Paint.Net and some other ones for my mum's eBook.

But for a long time now its been unbearably slow. I couldnt say how long ago or what I did if I did anything wrong.

I also keep getting the Windows Virtual Memory Minimum Low message everytime my comp mini-crashes. But it seems to do next to nothing about it because I get it frequently anyway and it cant be making it bigger each time otherwise it would be huge now.

Anyway, someone said my Processes (on task manager) were using up too much memory but most of them are SYSTEM ones which I dont really plan on ending...

    So...

Is there anything I can do to help this or do I simply need more RAM?

    What make is your laptop?

My packard bell used to do the "Windows Virtual Memory Low" message all the time. Get Tuneup Utilities 2009 and run a few of the applications that are on that should speed it up and show you what is hogging resources.
