Default laptop issue (well, it's dead)

soo err yeah, the bit that connects screen to keyboard bit ripped the other day (a bit of it) which left a TINY wire showing and i kinda spilt water on it

room smelt of burning, gas was rising from my laptop and it hasn't turned on since, am i pretty much ******?

Yeh mate.. pretty sure it's broken. Could try and find out which parts damaged and replace it but that could be costly..

He's clearly being dumb.. Gas cannot spill from your laptop. How do you rip a keyboard, it would break.. It would be a covered wire there not exposed so spilling water on the wire would do nothing..
