    Exclamation Stripped screws

Didn't know where to put this, but here seems fine, I think?

Anyway, I'm trying to unscrew parts of my laptop at the bottom (don't ask).

They're 5mm long screw heads (phillips), and I've stripped them down slightly...

How do I undo them? I'm going to get a screw extractor and socket wrench tomorrow, should they get the screws out? 4 in total, got 5 out, but these 4 are impossible to get out so far. (been trying for... days)

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

    TY.

Are the heads of the screws stripped, or the threads?

If it's the heads, then I would recommend getting a slightly bigger sized screwdriver. My screws I use always get work away so I just keep getting a bigger sized screwdriver. Does the trick for me

    The threads?

Excuse my art but the heads ( + ) <-- screw head is rounding off so it's nearly turning into a circle.

    If you understand my terminology

Yeah. Try and find a screwdriver with a fatter bit at the end.

I've tried about 5 phillips screw drivers with bigger and smaller bits, but still no luck?

Try using a flat screwdriver. I find them easier than philips ones.

I've used flat and phillips, big small, precision screwdrivers - the lot. None get them off.

What could work? would a screw extractor and or socket wrench do the job?

Have you tried using a knife?
I don't even bother with screwdrivers anymore. ;p

I used a pair of metal tweezers before. Was a hard job, but in the end i got the screw out.

He means star screws, in which case they're manufacturers screws, and if you remove them you'll void the warranty.

Use a special screwdriver in essence.
    PM me for help.
